Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY, born on 17 March 1998), known professionally as Grimes is a Canadian performer, singer and record producer. 2] 3] The variety of her earlier music is described as "lo hi R&B" as well as "futuristic dance-pop". In addition, she has included elements of hip-hop electronic, and rock. She often uses science fiction and feminist themes in her lyrics. Five studio albums were published by her. Born and raised in Vancouver (later making the move from there to Montreal), Grimes began making music for herself at the end of the 2000s and released two albums, Geidi Primes and Halfaxa from 2010 via Arbutus Records. After that, she joined 4AD and gained acclaim after the release of her third album Visions, in 2012. Visions contains the two singles "Genesis" as well as "Oblivion" and won the Canadian music industry's Juno Award for Electronic Album of the year. After this, her album on her 4th studio effort, Art Angels, was launched in 2015 and earned reviews of praise, as several magazines called it the top album of the year. 6. Her fifth studio album Miss Anthropocene, was launched in the year 2020.
